We're Pesach roommates
and he's trembling in a dream,
firm talk waking me.
Defending his history,
dad gives the boss the business.

There are no words for
my human longing for truth
that microwaves me
burns me from the inside out
as I search in the ashes

Sleeping and writing
can't be done at the same time
and yet that's my dream
as I lie here half awake
writing as I pray for sleep

Man to his child:
"It is time to go to bed"
And the kid says, "Yes."
But the boy resists his sleep
This inner child persists

Facebook for me is
like talking to myself and
then remembering
that I use a megaphone
and I'm standing in Times Square

We are all alone
meaning each one of us is
so all of us are
even if it's just us two
sitting alone together
